Washington, D.C. (February 25, 2015) – D.C. United has announced that the club has signed former University of New Hampshire goalkeeper Travis Worra.
During his four-year college career, Worra started 59 of 60 games and finished with a record of 25-22-10. He is tied for second in program history in shutouts (21), third in wins and seventh in saves (234). The Lancaster, Pa., native was named America East Goalkeeper of the Year and was a first team All-America East selection in 2013, with six shutouts and a 0.55 goals against average.
“Travis earned a contract with his showing in preseason,” said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. “Travis has very good quickness and shot-stopping abilities, and we look forward to getting him into our environment.”
Worra most recently played in the National Premier Soccer League for the Carolina Railhawks in 2014. He also appeared for Premier Development League club Seacoast United (N.H.) in 2012 and 2013.
