50 Shades of Orange? Cleveland Browns New Logo.

Since Nike inherited the merchandising of the NFL each team has suggested changes to their image, yesterday it was the turn of the Cleveland Browns

Some would say the Cleveland Browns have no bigger problem then at quarterback, as we approach the 2015 NFL campaign. Hoyer, Manziel, maybe Bradford, or a QB from the draft? – they all have backers who want nothing to do with the one another. While these feelings may be true, other trivial problems emerge daily from this organization.

50 Shades of Orange? Cleveland Browns New Logo.

The most recent example is the new logo that everyone seems to be talking about. Every team in the NFL seems interested in polishing their image, or at least their logo, for their fans. The Browns are no different.

So the Browns found a graphic designer they liked and gave that company license to make some changes to their helmet logo and a companion logo. The Browns reportedly paid $100k for the re-design.

Rest assured the company didn’t employ Kevin J. Chmura, who probably a little upset and confused, posted a parody video on Twitter. In the video, he makes the alterations to the 2014 helmet on MS Paint and it takes a total of 25 seconds.

The companion to the team helmet is the Dawg Pound logo. The 2015 NFL season marks 30 years since the inception of the sometimes scary fan group. It is an original piece using a touch of white, seal brown, and the new orange. It’s a more vibrant orange which in the words of the Browns official website , “meets the passion” of Dawg Pound members.

The new uniforms are said to be a little more, “drastic” a change. Team President Alec Scheiner said the fans have, “given us permission to move ahead with the uniform”. They are scheduled to come out April 15th and you can expect another media frenzy and a few more funny tweets.

Some fans are upset. In general, most are pleased because they finally have a young talented group of men who win the games they should. They also compete, and win occasionally, against perennial playoff teams.

No matter what the uniform and logo look like, the 2015 Browns will find themselves being feared rather than the whipping boys they’ve been for two generations.

New logos, new uniforms, new season. Meet the new Cleveland Browns.
