Today is another jam packed cbb day filled with options to choose from. Don’t get too worried about all the options and as always focus on what works. On days like today, you want high price guys with low floors and low priced guys with high ceilings. With this mindset, you can build a team that performs more than well enough for you to cash. Don’t get too cute with the whole stars and scrubs approach. It works for some, but not for others. I see guys all the time doing well playing middle of the pack guys. While a score of 240 will certainly have you cash, nights like tonight 210-220 will normally be good enough for cash games. I personally don’t see any players being crazy high owned with so many options, but I do think Rakeem Christmas will be the highest owned. I will most likely fade not because I do not like him tonight, I just like Mickey more, and finding a tough time squeezing both in. You’ll need to play at least one of these guys tonight so best of luck however you decide.
FANTASY CBB 2-24-15
Top High Price Plays
Jordan Mickey -Forward LSU. Price 10,300
Top play on today’s slate in my eyes is Jordan Mickey. Best shot blocker facing a defenseless team in the paint. You may be wondering how is Martin not my top play for a cheaper price. Mickey and Martin are different players, and I feel this match-up plays more to Mickey’s strengths. I do like Martin, but not near as much as Mickey especially with Martin’s recent road struggles.
Jerian Grant -Guard Notre Dame. Price 9900
Grant’s price has been moving up north and deservedly so. He has been on a nice little tear, and at home he is unreal. This game against Syracuse will be fast paced, and expect Grant to get open looks against this zone, and find open shooters as well. Grants could certainly double up with points and assists en route to 40 fantasy points for value.
Jamel Artis -Forward Pittsburgh. Price 8100
Since the recent price jump for Artis, he actually has not made value in his last three. He also was not playing Boston College. This should be a game in which Pitt dominates BC from the tip, and Artis will have many opportunities to score and find his teammates. Artis tends to have games where he racks up assists, along with his points and rebounding and this could certainly be it. Artis will hit value tomorrow for the first time in a few games, and you can expect him to be high owned throughout by other fantasy players.
Top Mid Priced Options
Billy Garrett Jr. -Guard DePaul. Price 6300
I mentioned Garret on here a few days back and he did not pan out unfortunately. That didn’t bother me as I will be rolling him out again. DePaul is favored for the first time in quite some time, and projected over 70 points makes this game worth a look for cheap players. Garrett has 30 points upside with a fairly high floor, and will have his fair share of chances tomorrow to fill up the box score against Creighton. Garrett is worth this tag because he can fill up all over, and if his shot is falling can easily exceed value with a great match-up.
Ricky Kreklow -Guard Creighton. Price 5500
Kreklow is simply a safe option. Fanduel refuses to raise his price beyond what it should be and you should keep rolling him out as always. Did I mention that he plays Depaul tomorrow? The most fantasy friendly team college basketball has to offer. This price is too good to pass up, as Creighton will certainly be scoring points tomorrow. Good shooters have hurt Depaul all year long and tomorrow will be no different.
Dylan Ennis -Guard Villanova. Price 5400
Ennis’s price is very good at this spot for how well he has been playing. At 5400 and at home with a good match=up there is little chance Ennis burns you here. He’s coming off two back to back great games in which he trumped value, and the pace of this game should keep this minor streak going. Ennis could pick up easy assists, and get open looks throughout the game to reach value at this low tag.
Top Low Price Options
Alandise Harris -Forward Arkansas. Price 4900
Harris is never your prototypical sexy play, however when he’s at home there isn’t much safer for 5K. His ability to gets steals/blocks along with minor contributions in asssits’ rebound and points make his floor low with some potential to exceed value by a few points. His 28+ court minutes are only impacted by foul trouble, and at home he tends to stay out of it. With the expected pace of the game, Harris makes for a nice punt tomorrow.
Jalyn Patterson -Guard LSU. Price 5000
Patterson’s price for some reason does not move on Fanduel. If your looking at box scores, I get it, he’s barely hitting value if at all, but the thing is, he’s getting big court minutes and has a good involvement in this offense. LSU is projected a huge total tomorrow against Auburn, and with Patterson seeing no less than 30 minutes per game, expect him reach value.
Geoff Groselle -Forward Creighton. Price 4800
Big men have had their way with Depaul throughout the season, and Groselle is a BIG man. While he gets somewhat of limited minutes, he produces while in. Creighton likes to go down low to him and tomorrow that could be the norm. Groselle is way to big for DePaul’s front line, and will have easy buckets at the rim along with put backs off misses. DePaul has been a fantasy dream for opposing offenses, and even Creighton at times as well. I feel you will want to have someone in this game because the prices are just too low for multiple players.
