The World of Outlaws Late Models Series wrapped up their opening weekend at the Screven Motorsports Complex in Sylvania, Georgia; and it could not have been a more exciting show. Friday’s winner, Steve Casebolt was passed on the last lap by Shane Clanton missing the weekend sweep by just one position.
Clanton was riding a 66 race winless streak coming into Saturday, and boy was it a dramatic finish.
This comes after Casebolt passed Brandon Overton on Friday Night to win that feature. Overton was right behind the two and grabbed a 3rd place finish.
The race ran green for 41 laps until Josh Richards was spun with nine laps to go. Richards salvaged a 15th place finish, but took a shot in points.
Saturday’s pole sitter, Tim McCreadie, finished 6th, but moved in to the Top 10 in the early points standings.
