Twelve LA Galaxy Academy Players Sign Letters Of Intent

Maintaining their reputation as one of the premier academies in MLS, the LA Galaxy Academy will send 12 of their U-18 players to Division I programs in the fall. The 12 players will attend eight different universities. Three will attend UCLA, including defender Malcolm Jones, who is ranked eight in the IMG Academy Top 150. 10 of the 12 will attend college in the state of California.

“It is of no surprise that the LA Galaxy Academy attracts the interests of colleges nationwide,” said Peter Vagenas, Galaxy Academy Director. “We are fully committed to producing young professionals.”

This group will remain a significant part of the Galaxy’s U-18’s for the rest of the 2014-15 US Soccer Development Academy Season. The U-18’s are 11-4-3 on the season and return to play later this week with a match against the San Diego Surf FC U-18 team on February 7.
