Fantasy Profile: Freddie Freeman, 1B, Atlanta Braves

LWOS 1B Ranking 6, Captains Value $19.46

Freddie Freeman has been a durable and competent player at 1B for four years now.  He is still just 25 years old and has room to grow.  For those that own him want a return to 20 HRs and a push on that .300 Ave mark.  There is plenty of reason to believe he can hit those benchmarks. Freeman hits to all fields and only missed the 20 HR mark by 2 on a season where his fly/hr rate dropped.  His walk rate increased for the fourth straight year.  This all shows that the 25 year old could take another step forward.  I think he is completely capable of a 25 HR, .300 average season.

Now for the bad news. The Braves lineup had trouble scoring runs last year.  So, this off season they traded Heyward, Justin Upton, and Oso Blanco(Gattis).  This completely deflates the offense like a football on the New England side line. They could easily score the fewest runs of any team this year.  If people shy away from Freddie, he may became a draft day bargain.
