There can never be a normal fight week when Nick Diaz is on the fight card. This time is no different.
What has now become an entertaining replacement for Dana White’s video blogs, UFC Embedded takes viewers into the lives of the fighters the week before their fights.
Most fighters don’t have a problem with having a little extra camera time. Nick Diaz isn’t most fighters though.
Watching Anderson Silva play paintball, seeing Sara McMann interact with her daughter and watching Kelvin Gastelum play the EA Sports’ UFC game gives fans a great look at the human side of a fighter.
What we got from Nick Diaz was a no-show, which is probably the greatest insight into who Nick Diaz is.
And so began the search for Nick Diaz. If the UFC says that Diaz missed his flight, then we can assume that Diaz isn’t in Las Vegas. To make it all the more suspicious though, the UFC began to poke fun at the missing Diaz bro.

Is the UFC poking some lighthearted fun towards a serious situation, or is there more to the story. Cue Nick Diaz’s agent.

Problem solved. Dana White knows where Diaz is, and the show can now go on.
Or not.
According to Dana White, Nick Diaz’s bags showed up to Vegas but he did not. This was as of an hour ago on the Jim Rome show. — Damon Martin (@DamonMartin) January 28, 2015
Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz’s luggage just doesn’t feel like a good substitute fight. We need Diaz.
Fight week has officially began and fighters have started their open workouts. Anderson Silva shows up with no Diaz to be seen.

Is this still a publicity stunt? It’s looking more and more like Nick Diaz isn’t in Las Vegas and that the Stockton native doesn’t plan on attending pre-fight events.
We know that Diaz will show up for the fight. We know that he has never been one to back down from a challenge. We also know that Diaz hates the media and being hounded by cameras. None of this act is surprising, but it is nerving for fight fans.
It’s safe to say that once Diaz is found and in Las Vegas, the UFC and fans will breathe a sigh of relief.
