FANTASY PROFILE: TYLER FLOWERS, C, CHICAGO WHITE SOX
LWOS Ranking 23, Captains Value -$5.73
In 2014, Tyler Flowers set career highs in Home Runs (15), RBIs (50) & Batting Average (.241). On the surface, it appears that Flowers is a sleeper and may have some hidden value if he could inch up his Batting Average a little bit further. However, there are some glaring weaknesses to be taken into consideration. He needed a BABIP of .355 (47 points above his career total) just to get his batting average on the outer fringes of mediocrity. Most likely, his batting average will be struggling to beat the Mendoza Line in 2015. One positive thing is that on the occasions he manages to make contact (he has a 34.8% career K rate), there is a decent chance that he can go deep as his career HR/FB rate is 18% indicating that he will at least provide double digit home run totals.
