Wasting little time after the appointment of Mike Maccagnan as general manage, the New York Jets are reportedly in the final stages of finishing a deal to bring former Arizona Cardinals, defensive coordinator Todd Bowles to the big apple.
Todd Bowles, New Head Coach for the New York Jets
Late last night it was reported by ESPN’s Josina Anderson, that the Jets had landed their man.
I just got a text from Todd Bowles, "Im taking the Jets job."

After he met with the Jets for a second interview, Bowles cancelled his second meeting with the Atlanta Falcons a clear indication that the deal is set in stone.
Expected to be a 4 year, $16 million contract, which will see the impressive defensive mind take over from Rex Ryan. Bowles who was the DC at the Cardinals from 2013 has had his defense in the top ten of the league for both years and was part of the reason that Arizona got to the playoffs despite all the injuries they had.
It is expected that Chan Gailey will be his offensive coordinator, the former head coach of the Buffalo Bills, has been out of football for the past two years.
Hearing that Todd Bowles' four-year will be at least $16 million. Chan Gailey, out of football last 2 yrs, will be his OC, per source. #nyj

The Jets had been tipped to try and sign Seattle’s DC Dan Quinn but due to the Seahawks still being in the playoffs, no meeting could be arranged per NFL rules. This left Bowles as the ideal candidate, having been an assistant in the NFL and College football for 20 years; he had been one of the hottest coaching candidates of the off-season.
While Bowles inherits a defense which is considered one of the strongest in the league, issues around the starting Quarterback and if Geno Smith can be that person will need to be addressed.
