Uriah Hall Given New Opponent For UFC Fight Night: Boston

Uriah Hall has found an opponent in Ron Stallings for his fight this Sunday at UFC Fight Night: Boston. Hall was originally suppose to fight Costa Philippou in Boston on the 18th. Louis Taylor replaced the injured Philippou, but Taylor pulled out of the fight due to a back injury. Philippou was a great opportunity for Hall to move up in the rankings, but unfortunately the UFC injury bug is taking it’s toll.

Ron Stallings will be making his UFC debut on less than a week notice. Stallings has been fighting on the pro-circuit since 2003 and has accumulated a 12-6 professional record. Stallings is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Tim Williams at CFFC 43 in November.

Hall has lost a couple of fights by decision to start off in the UFC, but has won two in a row against Chris Leben and Thiago Santos, winning the Santos fight with a bone visibly sticking out of his toe. The highlight of Hall’s career was by far his stint on The Ultimate Fighter. He knocked all of his opponents out in brutal fashion and was seen as the most feared man that has ever been on The Ultimate Fighter.

Many fans are wondering if we will ever see that same Hall that we saw on the show that was finishing guys like he was on a video game or action film. Hall has the potential to be a big star and hopefully he can get a replacement soon.

Another win for Hall could get the hype train behind him again. He has all the skills in the world to be a future contender and the fighting style to be a fan favorite. It would truly be a travesty if this fight is taken off the card, but luckily the UFC has put together a lot of fight cards this year of which Hall could fill a spot. There is something special about Hall and he is one of those types of fighters that has an unpredictability that keeps us on our toes.
