West Bromwich Albion felt the need to go to social networking to deny reports of a 23m move to Liverpool for Saido Berahino.
The club took to twitter, elaborating, “The Berahino story for 23m is, and always has been, an entire fabrication.”
Berahino has made an electrifying start to this season, netting seven goals in his first nine matches played. However, a contract dispute and possible off-field distractions have made him start just one of West Brom’s last five matches..
An emerging finisher, the 21-year old will interest a Liverpool team that has struggled to score goals since the start of the year, still reeling from the loss of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge. Possibility of the move is elevated as Berahino mentioned he may need to leave Albion to play Champions League football in November.
Liverpool and Tottenham have been rumoured to be interested in the services of the 21- year old striker.
