I have the best team in my FPE fantasy league, it really isn’t close. I am not saying that to be a jerk or anything but it’s just a fact. This is the league that isn’t worth the most money but is without a doubt the most important league I am in. I worked hard all year to make deals and build depth to make more deals throughout the season. I paid attention to injuries and teams’ needs in the league to be able to strike when there was an opening. I earned the right to talk so confidently. I mean I made a team that has three guys complaining to other team owners about how they let me get such a strong team, funny part is one of those guys traded me L. Bell. I also traded with 9 of the other 11 guys in the league. It wasn’t just one or two guys. One is actually quitting the league next year because of it and I wouldn’t be surprised to see more go (yes grown men act this way in fantasy).
Fabber’s Believe It or Not, All You Can DO and Week 16!
I built a team that looks like this, Drew Brees at QB, L Bell and D Murray at RB with Crowell and G Bernard as backups, A. Brown and C. Johnson at WR with J. Gordon, K Benjamin to use as a flex. I also have Gronk at TE and been rotating kickers and defense all year. I know some people will try to rip this team but it’s a great team. It is the first team to score 200+ points in the league history of almost a decade. It was made for a championship but it will not get it.
The Semi is this weekend and I am dead in the water. Brees should be fine with Gronk and Johnson carrying their weight but that’s about it. The two Steelers going against the Chiefs have horrible matchup problems. We do not know if Murray is even going to play and if he does how much will he play and how effective will he have to be in the minds of everyone that owns him. The flex spot is a mess, Manziel is killing the value of all Browns players and K Ben is going against Haden who isn’t to mess with.
The other side is he has a perfect run at me with Foster, Charles and Maclin having beast matchups this week. Matt Ryan should hold his own and Wallace and D Walker should be good plays as well. I am in deep trouble.
I bring this up not for sympathy but for you to understand something that is key to enjoying this game as much as I hope you do. Fantasy, like in life, you can do everything right and be the best but not win.
So do all you can but know the final verdict is not in your control so do not sweat it. Play your guys, trust yourself and live with it. Know even when you are perfect sometimes it will not be enough.
Good luck this week and score them high.
Before I talk week 16 we have to close out week 15. We went 63% again with our calls but we aim to do better so here it goes.
Week 16
Believes
QBs
Matt Ryan ATL, 24 Points: You know who gives up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks? If you guess New Orleans you got it right! He has a great matchup in a dome with everything on the line, Matty Ice shows up!
Mathew Stafford DET, 23 Points: The Bears give up over 20 points per game to opposing QBs and Stafford is due for a big game. It looks like this Lions team will make the playoffs and everyone in the organization knows they need Stafford confident and this is the game for that to happen.
Mark Sanchez PHI, 21 Points: I am willing to take the risk only because he is playing the worst fantasy defense in the league against the QB and that’s the Redskins. It is scary but it’s worth the fright.
RBs
Joique Bell DET, 16 Points: Let’s not get it confused, he is the man in the backfield for the Lions. He has a good matchup and they will protect their QB in Detroit with the running game.
Mark Ingram NO, 14 Points: He finds a way to score touchdowns which fantasy owners love. He will never play a stack box unless inside the five yard line. Oh and the Falcons have the worse fantasy run defense in the entire NFL.
Tre Mason STL, 12 Points: The Rams are the type of team that can beat the Giants. They play solid defense and control the clock with the ground game. I expect them to go back to that style and it will work.
WRs
Sammy Watkins BUF, 13 Points: The year for the rookie wide receiver continues as this player gets back on track. He is healthy and the Bills are playing good football but the travel will make them have to play a little more open.
Kenny Stills NO, 12 Points: I am riding this guy till the end. He has a perfect matchup and a system that loves to air it out a little. Look for this guy to have a game that changes outcomes.
Golden Tate DET, 11 Points: He is killing Calvin Johnson owners softly like the Fugees in the 90’s. This is the type of game where the short screens and quick patterns could kill the Bears defense. This is the guy running them.
TEs
Travis Kelce KC, 12 Points: He is finally getting enough snaps to be a confident TE1 and he has a great matchup this week. He is a perfect combo for a starting lineup this week.
Dwayne Allen IND, 10 Points: He comes back right where he left off, a TD machine. Luck loves his tight ends, especially Allen. This will be one of those big games.
Kickers
Connor Barth DEN, 12 Points
Mason Crosby GB, 11 Points
Defense
Bills 16 Points
Panthers 13 Points
Nots
QBs
Ben Roethlisberger Pit, 17 Points: The Chiefs are not that bad of a defense and the Steelers are the most consistent of teams. They went back to the old school thinking of run early and often. This should make this QB a bench player this week.
RBs
Justin Forsett BAL, 8 Points: They are still splitting carries with two or three backs. Houston has a pretty good defense and finds a way to take away what the other team wants to do. This is one of those games, wouldn’t shock me to see a Texans victory.
Jeremy Hill CIN, 7 Points: He isn’t playing the Browns this week people. The Broncos are one of the best rush defenses in the entire NFL. Also, let’s face it the Broncos might be up 20 before half and forced to throw frequently.
WRs
DeSean Jackson WSH, 7 Points: RG3 doesn’t help this guys stock and the team has packed it in. I am not sure he will even give it 100% and it’s his old team. Just do not love this game as most do.
Marques Colston NO, 6 Points: Atlanta has been pretty solid versus #1 wide-outs recently and I expect the trend to continue. Colston is still called the first receiver but I am not sure he is really in the top three for his QB Drew Brees. The slippery slope continues to drop.
TEs
Jared Cook STL, 5 Points: He has one great game a year and that game has passed. He is not worth a roster spot and definitely not worth a play.
Kyle Rudolph MIN, 5 Points: The disappointment of this guy’s year continues and it still boggles my mind. I do not know how it went so bad but I know it’s that bad.
Kickers
Josh Brown NYG, 7 Points
Chandler Catanzaro ARI, 6 Points
Defense
Texans 7 Points
Steelers 5 Points
