Away Day Success Again as Spurs Win Over Swans

It’s becoming somewhat a habit every time Tottenham take to the field away from White Hart Lane. Another last minute strike from Spurs’ Great Dane, Christen Eriksen, gave them a hard fought albeit satisfying victory against the impressive Swansea City. West Ham United, Aston Villa, Hull City and now the Welsh side have all conceded late goals which in turn have seen Tottenham claim all three points.

Away Day Success Again as Spurs Win Over Swans

Tottenham are back in business it would seem; as they sit just four points off current fourth place side West Ham United. Without sounding disrespectful, the Hammers are unlikely to remain in such a lofty position at the end of the year, meaning Spurs can really focus on Arsenal and Southampton (2 points ahead) as well as Manchester United (3rd place, 7 points ahead) in the battle for a top four placing in the Premier League. After weeks of uproar and speculation regarding Mauricio Pochettino’s decision making and managerial strategies, the Argentinian is now looking to push on in the Barclay’s Premier League as Spurs climb to seventh. To add to that, a win midweek will see Tottenham march on into the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup (a competition they were victorious in back in 2008). Things are certainly looking up for the Lilywhites.

After having easily secured a place in the knockout stages of the Europa league not so long ago, and now without the proven negative influence of Thursday night football, the North London club are now looking to kick start their season properly and a fantastic away victory on Super Sunday has most definitely provided a platform for such. With Burnley (H), Leicester City (A), Manchester United (H), Chelsea (H) and Crystal Palace (A) all coming up in the next month or so, Spurs will obviously need to continue their recent positive form and tremendous character, particularly in the two home games against high flyers Chelsea and also the Premier Leagues form side in United.  Spurs have been able to secure a number of good results on the road thus far this campaign, but have disappointed at times when playing at White Hart Lane.  These two games provide the squad an opportunity to turn that around and get pick up big points against top squads, something that is essential if they want to capitalize on their recent strong play.
