Red Bull Brazilian Grand Prix Preview: Bulls Doing Rain Dance

It is safe to say that to stand any hope of beating Mercedes this weekend, Red Bull Racing require the track to be rather soggy. With rain expected, this could be the chance for the team to get their fourth race win of the season. With Daniel Ricciardo on the verge of securing a fantastic third place in the world championship, outgoing driver Sebastian Vettel will at least want to finish just behind his team mate.

Red Bull Brazilian Grand Prix Preview

No. 1 Sebastian Vettel (GER) – 5th

Form: 6/2/3/8/7

2013: Grid: P1, Race: P1

Vettel returns to the scene of his most recent pole and race win to date at Interlagos. Whilst this season has been effectively a write-off, the four-time champ has shown some much better form in recent races compared to earlier in the season. He has won twice out of the last four years here, but I feel that even with rain, Mercedes are just out of reach. The podium must surely be a target however.

No. 3 Daniel Ricciardo (AUS) – 3rd

Form: 5/3/4/7/3

2013 (Driving for Toro Rosso): Grid: P7, Race: P10

Another brilliant podium came at Austin for Ricciardo. He is likely to leave Austin as guaranteed third place in the World Championship, provided that he doesn’t drop ten points to Valtteri Bottas and 15 to his team mate and Fernando Alonso. Given Ricciardo’s and Mercedes’ recent form, it is likely that will happen. The Australian is almost certainly going to be most people’s driver of the season (he is almost certainly mine) and this could be yet another opportunity for him to take a podium or even a race win should Mercedes trip up.
