Andrew Ference Suspended 3 Games for hit on Zack Kassian

Ference was given a two minute minor on the play. The Canucks would go on to defeat the Oilers 3-2 on the night.

Ference`s suspension was increased as he is considered a repeat offender by the league. He has been suspended on two other occasions and fined once over his 15-year NHL career. He will forfeit $118,902.45 in salary due to the suspension.

Ference has one assist and six penalty minutes in 11 games this season for the Oilers. He was signed as a free agent in the summer of 2013, after spending seven seasons with the Boston Bruins. He was part of the Bruins team that won the 2011 Stanley Cup.

Ference will be eligible to return for Sunday’s road game against the New York Rangers.
