New York Red Bulls Announce Plans to Expand Red Bull Training Facility

HARRISON, NJ (October 16, 2014) – The New York Red Bulls announced today its multi-million dollar plans for expansion of the Red Bull Training Facility in Hanover, NJ.

The two-stage process to develop a new building for the Red Bull Academy and Red Bull Training Programs, as well as visiting teams, is set to begin later this month with stage one to be completed by April 2015.

“We are pleased to announce the expansion of Red Bull Training Facility,” said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh. “Building top player development infrastructure is one of our club’s key priorities and this is another major step in achieving that goal. Our academy and training programs will greatly benefit from this development.”

“We’re excited to see one of the top training facilities in the country continue to expand and provide our athletes with first-class amenities,” said Director of Youth Programs Bob Montgomery. “As one of Major League Soccer’s leading Academy systems, this expansion plan will only help us as we continue to develop young talent in the tri-state area.”

The first stage of construction will focus on the new, 4,000 square foot building, which will include the following amenities:

    • Two Team Locker Rooms
    • Multipurpose Weight/Cardio Room
    • Treatment Room
    • Exam Room with examination/treatment table and supply cabinets.
    • Coach/Staff Locker Room
    • Men’s and Women’s Public Restrooms.
    • Mechanical, Electrical and Data Rooms

The second stage of construction will include 3,500 square foot addition to the building, as well as the development of a natural turf field and improvements to the existing turf field. A construction date for stage two has not yet been confirmed.

The Red Bull Training Facility is home to the Red Bulls first team, its Academy Teams and hosts training sessions for visiting MLS clubs ahead of Red Bulls home matches at Red Bull Arena. The facility has hosted MLS sides Seattle Sounders FC, San Jose Earthquakes, Sporting Kansas City and the Houston Dynamo, Italian club Inter Milan, as well as Argentina, Ireland, Serbia, Greece and Colombia.
