Breaking News: Vettel and Red Bull part ways

It was announced this morning that Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing will part ways at the end of the season, after six years with the main team and over ten with the Red Bull Racing family an era is coming to an end.

It is said that last night Vettel asked to meet with Christian Horner to tell him that he will be leaving at the end of the year. Horner has confirmed to the media that the young German will be following in similar footsteps to his hero Michael Schumacher and going to Ferrari. However, Ferrari are still yet to confirm their drivers, but an announcement shouldn’t be too far away. After interviews from Alonso, Vettel and Marco Mattiacci it was all but confirmed as the three of them aren’t the best at hiding the sports secret.

Alonso claims he hasn’t decided where he’s going; will it be a year off or McLaren? The latter is more likely if he can come to terms with being reunited with old boss Ron Dennis. As for Red Bull Racing, they will line up with the young and experienced duo of Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat. Once again Jean-Eric Vergne will feel hard done by, but maybe with a little bit of hope that he could stay at Toro Rosso. Carlos Sainz Jr. is set to take the vacant seat at the Italian team.
