In a Word is a week in sports recap column that recaps the major stories of the past week– in just one word.
Once again this past week was marred by the continued scandals of Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson and other NFL players. The NFL, Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens have shown their true colors as being incapable or unwilling to deal with domestic abuse allegations against their players.
Chaos – In a Word – Goodell, Peterson, Vikings and more
At the very least Roger Goodell, the face of the NFL, has failed in dealing with this serious issue. He has shown himself to be an incompetent commissioner. At the most, it is likely that the commissioner has been less than truthful to the media, the league’s fans and NFL owners about what he knew about the scandals and when exactly he knew it.
Needless to say, this was another chaotic week in the NFL.
Roger Goodell – Um
Roger Goodell – Mum
Roger Goodell – Truthful?
Adrian Peterson – Exempt
Adrian Peterson – Clueless
Ray Rice – Appeal
Minnesota Vikings – What?
Baltimore Ravens – Despicable
Baltimore Ravens – Confused
Jameis Winston – Suspended
FSU – Dramatic
Rob Bironas – Tragic
MLB and MLBPA – Duh
Josh Harding – foot
