FanFeud Premier League Fantasy Report

Editor’s Note: The following is prepared by Trev Keane and our good friends at FanFeud. Want to get into a fantasy league? Get into a game today! Also, we are proud to feature their weekly show on Last Word Radio.

After an enthralling opening three weeks, fantasy football addicts have been in a cold sweat this last week due to the International break. Thankfully FPL DT’s have been consigned to memory as Premier league action resumes this weekend.

The opening few weeks has proved very interesting from a FPL point of view. Big name summer signings such as Cesc, Diego Costa and Gyfli Siggurdsson have hit the ground running while those such as Branislav Ivanovic, Aaron Ramsey and Raheem Sterling has managed to maintain the consistency they showed last season.

FanFeud Premier League Fantasy Report

Game week four looks set to be dominated by Manchester United after their exciting last minute splurge on transfer window day with Radamel Falcao, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo all set for their debuts alongside Angel di Maria, making his home debut.

While United will hope to get their first win of the season, their cross town neighbours City will be out to avoid a second successive defeat when they travel to London to face Arsenal.

Liverpool will hope to inflict a first defeat of the season on Aston Villa while Chelsea put their 100% record on the line against Swansea.

In a first piece for the Last Word on Sport, @trevkeane from www.fanfeud.co.uk picks three players to watch out for this weekend.

Rickie Lambert

A surprise choice perhaps but after his impressive cameo for England not to mention Daniel Sturridge’s injury, the former Southampton man is in line to feature against Villa. The striker could start upfront alongside Mario Balotelli in a new-look attack or at the very least he should come on to replace the Italian in and around the 60-70 minute mark. Either-way he will be full of confidence after his cameo for England and will be rearing to go at Anfield. While he failed to feature against Spurs last time out, he showed against Manchester City that he can offer something to the Liverpool attack with his header leading to a consolation goal.

Tip: Lambert to score against Villa with Liverpool winning, just.

Nathan Dyer

While his Swansea team-mate Siggurdsson has dominated the early season headlines in Wales, diminutive winger Dyer has gone about his business quietly but effectively. The England wannabe’s form has led to whispers of an International call up and with three goals already this season it is easy to see why. Two goals against WBA in game-week 3 coupled with the winner against Burnley makes the 26 year old one of the form players going into this weekend. While his talent will be put to the test against a strong Chelsea backline, International ambitions not to mention maintaining his side’s 100% record should ensure Dyer is fired up to succeed, which could spell bad news for Jose Mourinho.

Tip: Dyer to continue his strong start with another impressive performance. While Swansea will come up short expect any Swans goal’s to have an input from the pacey attacker.

Angel Di Maria

Okay, I apologise, this is not a tip really but it is hard to ignore the merits of the Argentine winner after his performance for the national team against Germany. Just two months after he missed the final in Brazil through injury Di Maria showed the impact he could have had as he scored 1 and set up three in a 4-2 win in Berlin. The winger made his debut for United in the 0-0 draw with Burnley but at home to QPR he should really shine. United will fancy their chances of a first win against a QPR side that shipped four goals away to Spurs and that should help Di Maria.

Tip: United to score with Di Maria to be involved, perhaps more than once.
