Fantasy Wide Receiver Rankings 15-11
#15 DeSean Jackson
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2011 | 24 | Phi | 15 | 58 | 961 | 4 | 104 | 1 | 1 |
2012 | 25 | Phi | 11 | 45 | 700 | 2 | 88 | 1 | 0 |
2013 | 26 | Phi | 16 | 82 | 1332 | 9 | 126 | 1 | 0 |
New team? Not much of a problem. DeSean Jackson is our 15th ranked WR in 2014, but he will no longer be in Chip Kelly’s high-tempo offense. Instead, he will be in Washington with RG3 and Pierre Garcon. Will it hurt his scoring? Possibly a little, as he finished in the top 10 in WR scoring in 2013. Yet, Garcon and Jackson are very different. Jackson takes the top off of a defense, while Garcon is one of the best in the league in turning short passes into large gains. They should complement each other perfectly, giving Jackson a top 15 finish in 2014. Jackson had 82 receptions for 1,332 yards and 9 TD’s last year. In 2014, we expect slightly worse numbers, something around 70 receptions for 1,250 yards and 7 TD’s. If Jackson develops chemistry with RG3, he could be in for a big year.

#14 Cordarrelle Patterson
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2013 | 22 | Min | 16 | 45 | 469 | 4 | 77 | 0 | 0 |
Last year’s outstanding Rookie looks to have another outstanding season this year. The explosive receiver out of Tennessee caught 45 balls for 465 yards in 2013, and had four touchdowns out of it. Patterson added another pair of touchdowns on kickoff returns! The kid is a multi-use threat to other fantasy (and NFL) teams and can easily get the job done.

#13 Victor Cruz
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2011 | 24 | NYG | 16 | 82 | 1536 | 9 | 131 | 1 | 1 |
2012 | 25 | NYG | 16 | 86 | 1092 | 10 | 143 | 0 | 0 |
2013 | 26 | NYG | 14 | 73 | 998 | 4 | 122 | 1 | 1 |
Everyone loved the spicy salsa in 2011. Then it was tamed down a bit in 2012. But, last year every last bit of kick was taken out of the salsa. Victor Cruz in no way can be held completely accountable for this recipe. The Giants offense kitchen was a mess last year and there was no way to cover the bitter taste it gave Giants fans and more importantly fantasy owners. The Giants have changed the cook and are hoping that he can spice things up. For some reason I am hungry right now. I do believe that Cruz has a very good chance to show us is dancing moves more often this year. I mean really can that offense be that bad again. There is a little risk here, but it may be worth the taking.

#12 Antonio Brown
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2011 | 22 | Pit | 16 | 69 | 1108 | 2 | 124 | 0 | 0 |
2012 | 23 | Pit | 13 | 66 | 787 | 5 | 106 | 4 | 2 |
2013 | 24 | Pit | 16 | 110 | 1499 | 8 | 166 | 1 | 0 |
Antonio Brown had a great 2013 raking up almost 1500 yards and scoring 8 receiving touchdowns. As the number 1 receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers he is poised to have another big year in 2014. A good WR1 Brown’s value increases in leagues that reward individual players for return yards, posting over 400 yards and a touchdown in 2013. Expect Brown to come off the boards in the early rounds in all formats and to have a productive 2014

#11 Randall Cobb
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2011 | 20 | GB | 15 | 25 | 375 | 1 | 31 | 3 | 3 |
2012 | 21 | GB | 15 | 80 | 954 | 8 | 104 | 4 | 1 |
2013 | 22 | GB | 6 | 31 | 433 | 4 | 47 | 0 | 0 |
It’s difficult to imagine what might have been for Packers speedster Randall Cobb in 2013. In week 5, against the Baltimore Ravens, Cobb suffered a near complete break of his fibula which sidelined him for a total of ten weeks. Since Aaron Rodgers ranks up there with the most prolific passers, and Cobb has the WR competency to promote productive relationships, he should get back to the precipice of cracking the 1,000 receiving yard mark and amassing a decent TD total seeing that James Jones has exited the building. Although he hasn’t completed a full season nor reached the 1,000 yard mark yet, his diverse skills in the running/return game should take the edge off of your concern.
