#25 Sam Bradford

Year Age Team G Comp Att Comp% Yards TD INT Rush Att Rush Yards Avg TD Fumb Fumb-Lost
2011 23 StL 10 191 357 53.5% 2164 6 6 18 26 1.4 0 10 7
2012 24 StL 16 328 551 59.5% 3702 21 13 37 127 3.4 1 7 1
2013 25 StL 7 159 262 60.7% 1687 14 4 15 31 2.1 0 3 1

The story on Bradford is simple; he has only played 16 games two out of four years.  He seems to have some talent in that arm.  It is just that he cannot put together back to back good years where he stays on the field.  The 14 TDs to 4 INTs last year is a good mark for 7 games.  If he did that for 16 games you are looking at a 30 – 9 season.  We would all take that in a late round pick.  If you can put three QBs on your roster make Bradford one of them.  If he stays healthy he can be a very capable QB2.

#24 Ryan Tannehill

Year Age Team G Comp Att Comp% Yards TD INT Rush Att Rush Yards Avg TD Fumb Fumb-Lost
2012 23 Mia 16 282 484 58.3% 3294 12 13 49 211 4.3 2 9 4
2013 24 Mia 16 355 588 60.4% 3913 24 17 40 238 6 1 9 5

This guy might be a sleeper in the making! He ended the season on a pretty good roll and scored 19+ in 6 of the last 8 weeks. He finally got on the same page with Mike Wallace and controlled some of his turnovers. He doubled his TDs from his first year to his second and threw for over 500 yards more as well. They addressed their needs on the offensive line and brought in a blocking running back to protect him even more, with that kind of time the sky is the limit. It is not all sunshine and rainbows with this guy, he can have some horrible games and turnovers and he go hand and hand. He will also have his first change ever in offense since his junior year in college. So, his breakout year might not be total break out.

#23 Carson Palmer

Year Age Team G Comp Att Comp% Yards TD INT Rush Att Rush Yards Avg TD Fumb Fumb-Lost
2011 31 Oak 10 199 328 60.7% 2753 13 16 16 20 1.3 1 2 1
2012 32 Oak 15 345 565 61.1% 4018 22 14 18 36 2 1 7 5
2013 33 Ari 16 362 572 63.3% 4274 24 22 27 3 0.1 0 6 3

Carson Palmer is your exact definition of an under rated pick in this year’s Quarterback field.  Palmer is coming off his best season, stat wise, of his career; throwing for 4,274 yards for the Cardinals in 2014.  Now Palmer returns with almost the same receiving core to throw to and will be just fine in his passing game.  However, Palmer’s run game isn’t so great; he rushed for just three yards last season which gives fantasy players some doubts when sacks come in play.  All in all, Palmer is a solid second or bench Quarterback for your fantasy lineup.

#22 Johnny Manziel – R

The most talked about player in the 2014 NFL draft, will not be drafted as a QB1 fantasy drafts. In fact it will be a surprise pick if he is picked as anyone’s QB2 in most formats. However, this does not mean he is without fantasy value. Players who can make plays with their legs as well as their arm can be potential fantasy gold. They do not always have to convince fully in real football to chalk up big numbers in fantasy see Tim Tebow 2011. Manziel has a couple of good weapons around him with Tight End Jordan Cameron having a break out 2013; however huge question marks hang over Wide Receiver Josh Gordon and whether he will take the field at all in 2014. Manziel’s value decreases if Gordon is suspended but still may be worth stashing on your bench as a QB2 in case he makes a huge fantasy splash like Tebow in 2011 or Michael Vick in 2010.

#21 EJ Manuel

Year Age Team G Comp Att Comp% Yards TD INT Rush Att Rush Yards Avg TD Fumb Fumb-lost
2013 23 Buf 10 180 306 58.8% 1972 11 9 53 186 3.5 2 6 3

In the 2013 NFL draft, the Bills were on the clock in the first round and selected EJ Manuel, number 16 overall even though he was thought to be a lacking top-end quarterback prospect. In his rookie year, Manuel threw for 1,972 yards and 11 touchdowns in ten games for Buffalo. The strong-armed quarterback out of Florida State has a lot of upside to him despite the fact EJ sustained three separate knee injuries in 2013 and missed 6 games. Buffalo used a second-round pick on Cyrus Kouandjio to help protect Manuel and with the great running back tandem of C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson, the Bills have a quality running game. Manuel also has many offensive weapons including; Robert Woods, Scott Chandler, Marquise Goodwin, T.J. Graham and Mike Williams who should provide enough receiving options for Manuel to excel in the upcoming season. It is well known that Manuel’s rookie season was uneventful — only four times in his 10 starts did he throw for 200 or more yards, never surpassing 300 yards passing in a single game. However, EJ Manuel is now back 100% healthy and ready for the 2014 season. He’s looking to have a bounce back season and finally bring the Bills back to playoff legitimacy.
