In a Word is week in sports recap column that recaps the major stories of the past week– in one word.
The recap of last week focuses primarily on the World Cup which is taking the world by storm in Brazil. This past week had a disgusting incident that included a player who was more like a cannibal than a soccer player.
There was also a soccer team that is made up of a bunch of ingrate players and a head coach who is a poor sport and displayed a lack of sportsmanship.
The World Cup also had some early exits by some early tournament favorites, but its also seen some dramatic finishes and more goals than seen in any world cup in recent memory.
Meanwhile the rest of the sports world has moved on and we have seen coaches traded and also saw the return of one of the greatest golfers of all time.
There were other stories but let’s get to the weekly recap (in one word).
Italy – Eliminated
Portugal – Done
USA – Advances
Mexico – Whah
Miguel Herrera – Loser
Netherlands – Dramatic
Costa Rica – Penalties
Greece – Heartbreak
Luis Suarez – Cannibal
Jason Kidd – Greedy
Tiger Woods – Rusty
Johnny Manziel –Party
Randy Moss – Coach
Clayton Kershaw – K’s
That’s the recap. Visit us next week as I recap the week that was.
