We at LWOS are always looking for new and innovative ways to bring our fans more coverage of the sports they love. And so today we bring our loyal readers and listeners Episode #10 of our hockey podcast, “Tape to Tape” featuring LWOS Hockey Analysts, Chicago-native brothers Dom and Cristian Simonetta.
Stanley Cup Final Game 5 Preview
Today’s episode continues the “Stanley Cup Edition” of the podcast which will be previewing and recapping the series as a whole, and a new episode will air before every game between the New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings as they battle for Lord Stanley’s mug.
Episode 10 starts off with the brothers recapping Game 4 of the Cup Final in Madison Square Garden by analyzing Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and his phenomenal 40-save effort. But despite the 2-1 loss, the Kings have used their elusiveness and speed to create chances, exploiting the Blueshirts and their back end. Dom and Cristian discuss this while highlighting two-way efforts from L.A.’s Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar.
Then, the two brothers analyze the shot selection of the Rangers and mention how they need to shoot high on Kings goalie Jonathan Quick in order to put pucks past him. Next, Dom and Cristian reveal the who they believe have the ability to impact the game for their respective team individually, and which players will be key for their club to win Game 5.
Towards the end of the episode, key factors for both sides are mentioned which include winning battles along the boards for New York and the Kings in terms of having a quick start in front of their home crowd in the Staples Center. In the end, the two provide their predictions for the game as well.
