A Swing in Momentum for the Dallas Stars

After going down 2-0 to the top seeded Anaheim Ducks, the Dallas Stars looked to be just another 8th seeded team who went down in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Now behind a stellar fan base hungry for another Playoff victory, Dallas is on the verge of pulling an upset.

Monday Night, the Stars took to the Ducks with a goal in the final minute of the second period that was lucky enough to find the back of the net, and then tallied two more in the third off of some stellar plays to win game three, 3-0.

The crowd was alive and well, even before the game, and had a huge effect in the momentum for the Stars. They are just that big of a factor when you go to Dallas, providing some energy to make a two goal comeback twice already this series.

The Stars have had two stellar playoff crowds, but fans have been heated up by the amount of physicality after the whistle in this series.

During game four on Wednesday in Dallas, five consecutive stoppages of play resulted in a scuffle between the two teams. One, in particular, forced two players to get kicked out of the game (2:10 remaining) because they were chirping at each other before puck drop.

Dallas escaped with an easy two goal win and left the crowd with a strong hatred to Ducks first liner Cory Perry.

“The arena was shaking by the last period of the game, part of which I didn’t get to see.” Stars player Vernon Fiddler said.

Fiddler was kicked out of the game after an attempt to protect his teammate after a fight. Ducks (forward) —– Maroon was chirping at Fiddler before the puck drop, in result both were kicked out “before a fight would breakout.”

The Dallas crowd has helped ensure a game six in the American Airlines Center on Sunday for the Stars, who will have to win at least one game on the road if they want to advance.

“There’s just so much heart in this team and none of them want this season to stop.” Stars Captain Jamie Benn said.

This Friday, when Dallas travels to Anaheim, Stars fans will need to show up and make some noise if they want a to witness a trip to the second round.

Unfortunately, former Dallas Star, Stephane Robidas was injured in game three, leaving for the intermission. (Sports Injury Alert). The Stars announced Robidas’ injury and soon after that chants of, “ROBI… ROBI…ROBI” rained from the American Airlines Center.
