Sports. Honestly. Since 2011

Just Grab It – In a Word (Week in Sports) – NBA and NHL Playoffs Begin, Jim Kelly and More

Welcome to In a Word, a new week in sports recap column on Last Word on Sports that recaps the major stories of the past week, in one word. Every Sunday you can look forward to another week in review in the sports world. I hope you enjoy the column. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

This past week started off relatively quietly but seemed to pick up once the NHL playoffs got going. There was one story that grabbed my attention. You’ll have to see for yourself.

There was also one very funny story that will have you shaking your head. No, it’s not the one that will grab your attention but it will leave you thinking that one team’s owner has very low expectations for his team.

Here you go. The week in sports recap (in a word or made up words).

Rick Adelman – Chow

Minnesota Wild – Blunders

Joel Quenneville – Cahones

New York Giants FansJosh Freeman – Incredulous

Aldon Smith – Combustible

Donovan Mcnabb – Prisoner

Chad Johnson – Canadeh

Joshua Harris – Delusional

Peytan Manning/Nick Saban – Violation?

Johnny Manziel – Favreability

Nick Clatheses – Twenty

Jim Kelly – Inspiration

NHL – Gutless

Brent Seabrook – Anchored

Pirates-Brewers game – Brawl

There you have it. One week, one word recaps, at least one whacky story and one man who is an inspiration to people fighting cancer.

This next week should be a fun week of sports viewing. Both the NHL and NBA playoffs will be in full swing and a couple of NHL playoff series will have a chance of ending next week. That will surely add some excitement to the games being played and if week one is an indication of the intensity of the play we are inf or, week two should bring us some exciting stories.

Join me next week for another version of In a Word.
