On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns signed former Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson, to a one-year-deal. The 32-year-old Burleson is entering his 12th year in the NFL. There was also interest in Burleson from the Miami Dolphins, who he visited earlier in free agency.
What up Cleveland! I’m excited about this upcoming season…Go Browns! S/O to @dawgpound_des for the… http://t.co/JNKYg22wCL

In his 11 year career so far, Burleson has averaged 12.3 yards per catch. In his time with Detroit, he averaged 10.6 yards per catch, despite suffering injuries in his last two seasons with the team. He was released in the middle of the 2013 season after 3 1/2 seasons with the club.
This is a good signing for Cleveland. Though Burleson is coming off several injuries, he provides depth in the Browns’ receiving group, and can serve as a mentor to league leading receiver Josh Gordon. The Browns have also signed former Cincinnati wide receiver Andrew Hawkins earlier in the off-season.
With this signing, it’s unlikely the Browns will draft college star Sammy Watkins, though it does not write off drafting a receiver at any point in the draft. All in all, it’s a potentially great under the radar signing for C-Town.
