Fuel it Up! Duck Commander 500 – NASCAR Feuds, Big Hoss and Great Racing!

Welcome to “Fuel It Up”!  The racing world is chock full of intriguing stories, but sifting through them to get a good general sense of the landscape can be challenging.  In Fuel It Up, I take the biggest, more interesting storylines and present them to you in a quick, compact 300-words-or-less format.  Here’s this week’s edition ahead of the Duck Commander 500.

The winner of this week’s paint scheme award goes to Jeff Gordon in the #24 Axalta/Texas A&M School of Engineering Chevrolet.  Runner up goes to Clint Bowyer in the #15 Willie’s Duck Diner Toyota… Brian France was heard on Sirius/XM radio this week gloating about the quality of racing thus far.  “Safe racing is our #1 priority but a close second is competitive tightest racing in the world.  We’re off to a great start.”  Most NASCAR fans would agree……………  Kurt Busch and Brad Keselowski continue their war of words this week after Busch ran into Keselowski last week in Martinsville.  “I’ll remember this when he needs a break.  He’ll find his ass around into the wall”, Keselowski said.   Busch replied, “He will get what he gets back when I decide to give it back.”  This NASCAR Feud is going to be fun to watch……………  Jimmie Johnson’s brother-in-law, Jordon Janway was killed in a skydiving accident on Sunday.  Janway, the brother of Johnson’s wife Chandra, was 27.  Last Word on Sports extends our condolences to the Janway and Johnson families……………  Texas Motor Speedway will debut the World’s largest high-definition video board this week.  “Big Hoss TV” is 21,633 square feet……………  The weather forecast for Fort Worth, Texas for Sunday calls for a 70% chance of rain with temperatures near 65f (18C).  The Duck Commander 500 can be seen on FOX beginning at 3:00 p.m. Sunday.  Canadian viewers can watch the race on TSN.
