Pass Blocking: C-

Gets into his sets fairly quickly, but does not have the elite anchor to hold up against the biggest and strongest of interior defenders. Struggles to recover once he’s beat, and is given fits by athletic blitzers up the middle. Has excellent length for an interior blocker.

Run Blocking: C+

Possesses a strong frame, with very good upper body strength. Able to get movement in the run game. Was able to hold his own against Ego Ferguson and a very talented LSU D-line. Needs to operate primarily in limited space and is less effective the farther he has to travel.

Technique: C-

Is not a prototypical technician. Has strong hands, but does not use them well enough, and will lean rather than reset his hands. Footwork deteriorates as he traverses more real estate. Is able to bend and sink fairly well and plays with good pad level.

Intangibles: B

Does not have a killer instinct on the field, but is not a loafer. Was ejected from the Arkansas game for making contact with a referee. Passion could be channeled more effectively. Never missed a game in his Florida career, and was a three-year starter. Has experience playing left guard as well as the pivot. Was elected a team captain as a senior, and is well respected and committed.

Red Flags: None

Bottom Line: Harrison has excellent size for an NFL center, but lacks the overall talent to be a sure thing for a starting spot. His experience playing the position in college will give him an advantage, as does his time at left guard, though it’s a position that does not play to his strengths. Has the skillset to play in a phone booth in a power running offense.

Comparison: Antoine Caldwell

Grade: 7.5 (5th Round)
