UFC Interview: Cung Le

There are very few people who can make a successful transition from contact sports to Hollywood. In today’s scenario, only a couple of names such as Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey can truly be considered to have made a successful transition. It only gets harder when you’re also considered to be an icon, and  there is only one person who can truly fit the above description. Cung Le served as the mentor for the inaugural edition of TUF – China, and I had the honor of catching up with the legend to talk about his MMA career, his UFC future and about his Hollywood stint.

Cung Le described how he began his career in Mixed Martial Arts, and how he got into the UFC. Talking to someone like Le was not only humbling, but his down to earth demeanor reminded me just why he’s considered to be one of the biggest icons in the world. The MMA fans would also be thrilled to hear that he will fight inside the Octagon in the near future, and that his age isn’t a factor for him to think about hanging his boots. With TUF – China recently wrapping up, Cung Le will be busy once again with his movie schedule before returning to fight inside the Octagon.

During the interview, Cung Le also described what he thought about the fighters during the TUF – China edition, and who he thought was the legitimate tough guy in Hollywood! Cung Le also provided a few spoilers for his upcoming movies, and as always was an absolute pleasure to talk to. His 13-year-old and 9-year-old sons have already started training, and Le said that someday, there is a chance that they might follow in his footsteps! I wish Le the very best for his Hollywood and MMA careers, and would love to talk to him once again after he returns to the Octagon.
