UFC returned to Macao for The Ultimate Fighter Chan finale, with “Stun Gun” Dong Hyun Kim taking on “The Hitman” John Hathaway in what would be an amazing welterweight bout to headline the card. Eight fights were finalized for March 1st, although 10 fights were announced for the night. Two fights were cancelled, and I happened to interview one of the fighters of one of the cancelled bouts in the welterweight division. When I looked at the card, one name that intrigued me the most was of Alberto “Soldier of God” Mina, the welterweight fighter with a perfect 10 – 0 win record. When I caught up with him a couple of days ago, he told me how he prepared for the fight and was looking forward to facing TUF 17 veteran, Zak Cummings. Alberto Mina discussed everything, from his background to his thoughts on the current welterweight division in UFC.

Alberto Mina has been fighting for the past 9 years, although he only fought 10 fights till date. He was supposed to make his UFC debut this Saturday against Cummings, but with Cummings failing to cut weight, the match was pulled just a day before the fight. I once again had the opportunity to catch up with Mina after the weigh ins, and he gave his opinions about Zak Cummings’ inability to make weight and what he thought was the reason. Mina told me that he was ready to fight anyone, and it’ll be interesting to see where he goes from here.
