Rushing: B
Very good north-south runner. Quick to pick up steam and will lower his shoulder through contact. Is not explosive laterally but can weave through traffic and is not easy to bring down as a runner. Has good vision as a ball carrier and protects the football.
Receiving: A
Able to chip and get into his route convincingly. Is very sure handed and is capable of being a reliable safety outlet, as well as demonstrating the ability to work a little further downfield. Concentration drops are few and far between. Uses a trademark hurdle and stiff arm after the catch to pick up extra yardage and is a cover corner’s worst nightmare along the sideline.
Blocking: D+
Just adequate as a blocker. Below average in pass protection. Plays too high and does not have much of an anchor. Plays on skates. Does not deliver enough pop on contact as a lead blocker. Rarely squares up and is content to dive at defenders’ feet and does not offer much on long runs. Needs some significant work in this area.
Intangibles: A
Emerged as a weapon his junior season. Suffered a torn ACL late in his senior season, and may not be ready to play by the beginning of the NFL regular season, which could significantly impact his draft value. Well-experienced and is smart with high football character.
Red Flags: Injury (Left ACL Tear)
Bottom Line: A versatile player who is not your traditional fullback, Millard brings a unique skillset that NFL coaches can utilize in the right situations. Millard has enough talent as a runner and a receiver to warrant looks as a starter in a West Coast offense.
Comparison: Evan Rodriguez
Grade: 7.5 (5th Round)
