Athleticism: C

Unspectacular athlete. Is not a speed threat, and did not have much of an impact deep (has some trouble tracking and securing deep passes). Is not explosive in and out of his cuts, nor after the catch. Has smooth acceleration but will not blow by defenders. Unable to take advantage of seams, at even at this level.

Hands: B-

Has good hands. Can catch the low and high pass, though will have his difficulties handling each on occasion. Can reel in the ball, take a hit, and hold onto the ball. However, is not aggressive enough when in coverage and does not do a good job making contested catches. Did not high point the ball often, but looked good when doing it (see Ohio State 2013).

Technique: B-

Is a very polished and well-versed route runner. Gives a lot of shoulder and head fakes. Has flexible ankles. Is more smooth than explosive. Runs sophisticated routes and is able to get open. A QB friendly receiver and a zone buster. Might not be strong or quick enough to get of press at the next level. Is an adequate blocker, but is not consistent or effective enough to be considered “good.”

Intangibles: B+

Shows good intelligence on the field, knows where is supposed to be and executes. Has been involved in the offense since a freshman and has played in a pro-style offense. Competitive player for the most part.

Red Flags: None

Bottom Line: A solid football player, Abbrederis does not “wow,” but is a steady performer who can make his way onto an NFL roster. A slot receiver at best, he can contribute right away however, and should fill a #4 or #5 receiver role. Would fit best with a West Coast team where he can work the underneath and the intermediate.

Comparison: Greg Camarillo

Grade: 7.4 (5th Round)
