Athleticism: B-
Has good but not great play speed. Able to get behind his man and work downfield. Is a very fluid and efficient mover. Shifty, but dances too much. Lacks elite burst.
Hands: B+
Has strong hands when asked to go up and catch the ball. Has very good leaping ability and is at an advantage with the ball in the air. Can have difficulty keeping his hands on contested catches and while in traffic. Got the ball ripped out of his hands vs. Nevada.
Technique: C-
Did not run many different route combinations, having played in a spread during his short career. Caught a lot of screen passes. Has very good body control along the sidelines and in the endzone. Gets separation in his routes through his footwork. Could add more strength and didn’t face much of a jam. Scheme allowed him to be open often.
Intangibles: C
Will need to learn the nuances of a pro-style offense, which will limit him early on. Only played for two seasons against low level of competition. Unbelievably productive, but is not the player numbers would indicate.
Red Flags: System Player, Experience
Bottom Line: Adams benefited greatly from the system and QB play at Fresno State, and likely will not be the star he was in college. He has plenty of room to improve and his skillset should not limit him to one particular offense. Could work on the outside, but best bet is as a #3 receiver.
Comparison: Davone Bess
Grade: 8.4 (3rd Round)
