With all the speculation surrounding superstar AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, many fans have been questioning the validity of transfer links involving “Super Mario”. During November and December, many rumours have surfaced involving Balotelli being linked with 2 teams: French giants PSG, and the BPL’s big-spending Chelsea. These links and rumours have had many fans very suspicious on the future, especially this January transfer window.
Recently, Vice President Adriano Galliani, owner Berlusconi, Mino Raiola (Mario’s Agent) and also Balotelli himself, have all declared that he is not leaving in January, and he wants to stay at Milan. Berlusconi, known for not being too fond of Mario, declared on the official Milan website, that “Mario is a Milan player, and he will remain a Milan player right now.” Galliani emphatically noted that, “Balotelli is staying, 101%.”
After hearing these quotes from Galliani, it’s almost certain that Super Mario is safe from all these transfer rumours – though we’ve seen these be used as smoke signals as well. Also, to sweeten the certainty for Milan and Balotelli fans, agent Mino Raiola answered transfer rumours this way: “There have been many rumours about us being linked with many teams, I have not linked up with any other teams in terms of Mario, he is happy where he is now.”
This is a sigh of relief for Milan fans, as many would not want to see their top striker go to another club. Balotelli has produced since arriving last January, helping out the Rossoneri immensely. To add to the transfer rumours, Balotelli came out in an interview yesterday saying, “I do not want to leave Milan as I am happy here, I need to stay calm and be ready for the World Cup in June. I will remain with Milan.”
I think this seals that Balotelli will not seek a move this January, as he is a big part of Milan and their comeback this season.
