Apparently not all is good in the Woods-Vonn household – Tiger’s vacation is ruined!
American skiing superstar Lindsey Vonn returned from a lengthy injury this week, only to sustain another injury in training in Colorado. The diagnosis is a partially torn ACL in the same right knee that she damaged in Austria in February this year – when she fully tore her ACL. Rest and rehab will be her new prescription as it is currently unclear how her efforts for Sochi will be impacted.
Vonn is the most decorated female skiier in US history, and is the reigning Olympic downhill gold medalist. It is very clear that if she is able to go, she is a very strong medal favorite, as she won the 2010 gold a clear half-second faster than the next closest competitor.
What’s made matters worse at the dinner table is that Woods is set to play in the Accenture Match Play Championships the same week that Vonn would be participating in events at the Winter Olympics. It appears if her injury does keep her out of the Olympics, he may just be off the hook – for now – but be “forced” to be home with Lindsey Vonn (seen to your left – to refresh your memory).
If Tiger had any plans to spend some time home “alone” while Lindsay Vonn was out skiing and the golf season was on hiatus, it also seems as though those plans have gone up in smoke. Poor guy.
