Giants Mid-Week Report: Back At It

It’s a post-bye Hump Day! How are ya? Good? Great! It was a long two weeks and I’m chomping at the bit for the G-Men to kick off their second half. Hopefully they are as well, because they had a pretty disappointing weekend with Dallas, Philadelphia and Washington all snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and could be facing an embarrassed and angry Silver and Black squad.

Wilson Still Sidelined: There comes a time where you just have to start wondering if David Wilson is going to be “The Guy.” If it’s not his fumbling problems, now it’s his apparent spinal stenosis that may ultimately wreck his career. With stopgaps Peyton Hillis doing well in his first two appearances and Andre Brown set to return on the weekend, Wilson is still waiting for the go-ahead to even practice. IR likely beckons for Wilson, so we will have to wait yet another year to see whether or not the speedster is the type of player that the Giants think he will and can be.

Rolle Speaks on Martin and Incognito: The situation in Miami seemingly no end and everyone has an opinion. Of course Antrel Rolle would have something to say about it.

“Richie Incognito, is he wrong? Absolutely,” Rolle said. “But I think the other guy [Martin] is just as much to blame because he’s allowed it to happen.”

Rolle continues: “First of all, know something like that would never, ever happen to myself, because I wouldn’t allow it to happen … You know, at this level, you’re a man. You’re not a little boy. You’re not a freshman in college. You’re a man. So I think everything has its limits. So there’s no way that another man is gonna make me pay for something that I choose not to pay for.”

To his credit, Rolle spent a good portion of yesterday moonwalking a bit from his comments, but it gives the fans an idea as to how backwards an NFL locker room is away from the rest of society.

Final Word: The Giants host the Raiders who are licking their wounds after Nick Foles and the Eagles lit them up with 7 touchdown passes and 49 points. Add in some injury concerns for Terrelle Pryor and Darren McFadden (what else is new?), the Giants have a better chance at winning than they did before the bye. The defense is finally playing up to their potential recently (The Beason Affect!), and I just feel the Giants are on their way to their third straight win, 31-20.
