WWE Battleground: Preview and Predictions

So here we go again – another WWE pay-per-view, this time being the very first BattleGround taking place October 6, 2013, at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York.

WWE Battle Ground Preview

Kickoff Show: Dolph Ziggler vs Damien Sandow

This match could be good, but it being on the pre-show leaves me without a clue as to where WWE is going with Dolph Ziggler.  The guy is a superstar and is an incredible talent for WWE.  The batttle of two MITB winners, I see this match being under 10 mins.

Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns The Shield:  This one is going to be good – very good – and is one of the more anticipated bouts for me.  If Cody and Goldust win they get their jobs back with WWE.  If they lose, WWE will never hire them again.  Okay, sure.  I really have liked this feud so far, and have enjoyed the stuff they have done with Dusty Rhodes and Goldust and the whole “Cody Rhodes getting fired” storyline they did on Raw.  There is big potential here!

Champion AJ Lee vs. Brie Bella:  I like the idea of Brie Bella getting a shot at the Divas Championship, and with the whole AJ dropping a pipebomb on the whole Total Divas cast, this match should be good.

Ryback with Paul Heyman vs CM Punk:  Man, what can you say about this match?  It has been a wild ride with Paul Heyman and CM Punk no doubt, and this Sunday live at BattleGround, a furious CM Punk will look to dismantle the Superstar responsible for his humiliating loss to Paul Heyman.  Ryback is going down – hard.

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Rob Van Dam, Battleground Hardcore Rules Match:  I don’t know, this match is hard to call.  Whatever happens in it I know one thing:  it will be entertaining, as it is anytime Mr. PPV, RVD, is on the show.

For the vacant WWE Championship Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan:  Who knows what in the world is going to go down in this one.  First at SummerSlam, Daniel Bryan beats John Cena straight up 1-2-3, and 2 mins later Triple H screwed Bryan, and Randy Orton cashed in and won the WWE Title.  Then last month at Night Of Champions, Daniel Bryan beats Orton 1-2-3.   The next night, Triple H says Scott Armstrong’s count was way too fast and strip’s Daniel Bryan of the WWE Championship.  What a let down for Daniel Bryan fans in the WWE Universe.  I have never, not since Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin, seen a guy as over with the crowd and wrestling fans then the yes! chant and Daniel Bryan.

My BattleGround Predictions

Ziggler vs Sandow:  I see Damien Sandow finding a devious way to win.  Who knows what WWE plans are with Dolph Ziggler, one of the hardest working guys in the WWE locker room.

The Rhodes Brothers vs The Shield Reigns & Rollins:  This match is going to have the fans on the end of their seats.  It has been building well for the past month and I don’t see Cody and Goldust winning. The Shield in a shocker will win and go over in this one. Big Show will find a way to interfere.

Divas Championship, AJ Lee vs Brie Bella:  Bottom line: AJ Lee retains and goes over Brie. Why? Because it’s not time for AJ Lee to lose that Championship just yet.  She is the Divas Division and everyone knows it. AJ Lee Wins

Bonus Match:  I see IC Championship on the line.  IC Champion Curtis Axel vs R Truth:  I Pick Curtis Axel.  After losing to R Truth this past Monday on PPV it will not happen. Axel needs to stay IC Champion.

Ryback vs CM Punk:  This is going to be a War.  I see a DQ finish happening for this match.  Paul Heyman will interfere and Punk will not lose.  Your winner by DQ, CM Punk, and the Heyman-CM Punk stuff will go on after BattleGround

WHC Alberto Del Rio vs RVD Hardcore Rules:  In a Shocker Del Rio retains his title.  I just don’t see RVD winning the WHC.  At the PPV in Novemeber? Yes! This Sunday? No! Del Rio Wins.

For the vacant WWE Championship Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton: What a match this will be!  I see Brie bella coming out again, maybe to turn on Daniel Bryan? No, I doubt it because they still have to be on the Total Divas show starting back up this Novemeber on the E! network.  This match is going to be a hell of a match – a war, a fight, everything we want to see the two top guys in WWE right now going at it.  Randy Orton will win the WWE Championship again. Somehow Daniel Bryan will be screwed.

Don’t miss it – WWE BattleGround on pay per view this Sunday.  I hope you all enjoy the show.
