Chelsea Man Of The Match

Chelsea kicked off their campaign very well with a 2-0 win at the Bridge.  It was an emotional welcome home for Jose Mourinho, as most fans welcomed him back with open arms.  Now on to my Chelsea Man of the Match.

For me it was the blonde Belgian, Kevin De Bruyne, who started on a very high note and was a handful for the Hull City defence. Constantly cutting in from the right flanks, he made an instant impact early in the game threatening to score the game’s opening goal.  Soon after he combined brilliantly with Eden Hazard to put Oscar through, and the Brazillian made no mistake as he converted beautifully into the back of the net. For De Bryune’s effort, the assist was as good as the goal.

Throughout the game, his awareness and sharpness was top notch. This is a lad the Barclays Premier League must watch out for going foward.  He can play across all three positions behind the lone striker – he is that versatile.  This is something that the Special One will be sure to appreciate having in De Bruyne, as it gives him additional options in filling out his lineup card each week.

It was a great start of the season for Chelsea, and we saw a great performance from Kevin De Bruyne.  For that reason, I name him my Chelsea Man of the Match in the 2-0 win vs Hull City.

Next up for Chelsea is a mid-week meeting with Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.  Villa defeated Arsenal 3-1 in their game on Saturday, and so Chelsea can not afford to take Paul Lambert’s men lightly, despite the 8-0 win they achieved in the last match-up at the Bridge.  The Villains will be looking for revenge.
