The Miami Heat have been hot the past three years and it’s all because of the major star they picked up in 2010 of course, led by Lebron James. In the 2010-2011 season, the Heat brought home the Eastern Conference Finals trophy, something that this organization has not done since 2006 when they went on to bring home the NBA Finals trophy. Although the Heat did not win the Finals in 2011, they did go on to win the Finals the next two years. A lot is going on through the players and the fans minds as they wonder if the Heat can go for a 3-peat.
What’s worrisome for fans is when Dwayne Wade is having to talk to his knees before a Game 7 of the NBA Finals, though it shouldn’t because he has been playing through injuries his entire career. Although Wade seems hurt half the time, he continues to perform at a high level.
The competition in the Eastern Conference this upcoming season is going to be more intense than. The Heat realize this and have made roster moves on account of it, picking up a big man in Greg Oden from free agency. Oden hasn’t played since December of 2009, which has left NBA fans questioning how much he will contribute to the Miami Heat organization.
Derrick Rose is allegedly coming back this upcoming 2013-2014 season. With the Chicago Bulls having their complete roster on the floor, they will definitely give Lebron James and the Miami Heat a run for their money. As the Bulls continue to get their stuff together, there are a few other teams on their way to taking that extra step. Let’s not forget that the Indiana Pacers took the Heat to a Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Finals without Danny Granger, who will most likely be returning this upcoming year. The Brooklyn Nets have also added some new members such as Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce playing alongside Deron Williams. The New York Knicks are also looking to win a Championship by picking up a DPOY in Metta World Peace, playing alongside a superstar in Carmelo Anthony.
The Eastern Conference has clearly improved, shedding it’s “weak” image, but the Western Conference is still definitely no joke. If the Heat do make it to the NBA Finals, they still have one more team left to face off in the toughest conference of the NBA. The Los Angeles Clippers have taken a role in being the best team in the NBA, (but the Lakers will always own Los Angeles) having young superstar talents in Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, alongside with a Hall of Fame coach, Doc Rivers. Russell Westbrook returning to the Oklahoma City Thunder playing alongside Kevin Durant will be a great threat to any team.
The Miami Heat are still favorites to win the 2013-2014 Championship, and they probably will so long as the three-headed monster stays intact. They have some great threats to worry about, but featuring the best player in the world on their team, creates assurance for the organization and its fans.”ltr”>The Miami Heat are still favorites to win the 2013-2014 Championship, and they probably will so long as the three-headed monster stays intact.
