Total Divas premiered on July 28, 2013 on the E! Network. The cast includes WWE Diva’s Natalya, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, The Funkadactyls (Cameron and Naomi) as well as newcomers Jo Jo and Eva Marie. Total Divas is a reality show that takes you up close and personal into the lives of some of the top WWE Divas today. The show also features John Cena and Daniel Bryan, as they are dating the Bella Twins (John with Nikki, Daniel with Brie). When I first watched Total Divas last week I did not know what to expect but after it was over I thought about it and really enjoyed it. There is a lot of drama in it but I’m the kind of person that likes watching personal drama on TV and my favorite things coming together in the WWE and reality television works for me. Having the WWE appear on a new network with this reality TV format could potentially bring in new fans.
Total Divas was the highest rated series debut in close to a year on E! The show also topped their predecessors in the adult 18-49 demo drawing 855,000 adult viewers compared to 606,000 for The Saturdays, 528,000 for Ryan Lochte, and 409,000 for The Wanted. The 1.3 million viewers for Total Divas trumped them all. I hope they can keep these ratings going. If they keep the focus on Natalya and Eva Marie primarily I think they’ll do fine!
