Can Tottenham Get to Champions League or even win the EPL?

Right, I am going to get straight to the point and just say, “YES”.

I am sick and tired of those pessimistic Tottenham fans who sit on their arses all day hoping Spurs will slip up!  I mean what kind of support is that?  It seems they are waiting for the club to fail just for the “I told you so” moment.  No, I’m sorry but maybe try actually getting off your collective arses and get to White Hart Lane and sing your heart out – support and loyalty, I say.

My first point for being so adamant that we will be playing Champions League after this season is the signings.

Paulinho, Nacer Chadli and maybe Roberto Soldado are some great signings. Paulinho adds a new dimension to our play and our midfield as we don’t really have a CM that scores regularly or can score using his head off set pieces.  Mousa Dembele is more well known for being creative and linking the play.  Sandro Raniere is more known for lurking around the defence getting the ball and then dishing to another player nicely, but he can also be known to grab a goal or two! Lewis Holtby, Gylfi Siggurdson and Clint Dempsy don’t really score with regularity – Siggy and Dempsey can score in important matches, but that’s it, and Holtby is still awaiting his first Tottenham goal.

Chadli, well you cant really say anything bad about Chadli.  He is nearly the perfect winger; he can score with a powerful shot, he can score freekicks, he is fast and he is very young.  Of course with being young he still needs to learn those subtle nuances, but once he has matured a bit he could be one of the best wingers that has ever played for Spurs. Chadli was a great signing as we only have Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale as senior wingers.  Andros Townsend still needs to learn a lot more and Lennon, although having one of his best seasons last time around, just doesn’t compare to Chadli.

Finally, Soldado.  Well the first thing I could say is “true striker”.  We man actually sign a striker (the deal is said to be in advanced stages, but not announced)!  And it’s not just any striker, it is Soldado.  Okay he may not be the fastest or youngest, but he makes up for it in other areas and he has the third highest goal to conversion – way ahead of RvP and Suarez!

Bale.  Another reason I am so confident in getting to Champions League is Gareth Bale.  Even with links saying we will accept over £100m, I can’t see him going as he has a very young family that are settled in London and he loves to visit his family very regularly which he couldn’t do in Spain. He also has a very long contract and might sign a new one AND he is with BT sports and FIFA 14, which would be hard to get out of.

Even if Gareth did happen to move I wouldn’t worry as having him leave would actually be quite good as we could buy young prodigy’s that could be as good as him and we could buy a world class team not just rely on Gareth, because if he gets injured that could be quite a big threat to CL football!

Of course we must consider other clubs, and by this I mainly mean Arsenal, our main threats.  Arsenal still have not signed a player apart from a young French lad, who won’t convert their team to a title challenging team.  Apparently Wenger said that he even if he didn’t sign anyone, their team is strong enough.  So if they did not sign anyone CL would be in the bag?  Clearly not.  There is also Chelsea who haven’t signed massive names.  Yes, okay, they did sign Schurrle, but to be honest if you are not a FIFA player or a Bundesliga fan the chances are you have not heard of him!

I think depending on a few variables, like if Bale stays or if we spend the money we get for him if he leaves, or if Arsenal buy someone notable, then I think that Tottenham could definitely get CL football.  The league, well, it all depends on how we play against big clubs.  If we play how we did against big clubs this season then I think we could, but in all honesty I think the league would be a more realistic target in a few seasons time.

My Prediction for Spurs: 4th
