*Warning* Strong language ahead…
The stupidtiy and utter chaos that goes along with football’s transfer window is honestly just battering me to pieces – f**k, f**k, f**k! Just go away, you evil little thing, just piss right off. It’s like hell on earth; no joy, just dashed dreams on a daily basis.
Right, breathe Tony, just breathe…
Okay, a little calmer now, at least until the next time I check on my Twitter timeline, or until the media make up their next cock and ball transfer stories that were probably started in some dingy bar over red wine and cheap Tequila shots. Right, back to my love, Arsenal.
Firstly, I thought we were supposed to have a so-called treasure chest of millions to spend? Ridiculous. Well obviously the key has gone missing, right? Anyone who knows of its whereabouts, please give it back! We are even offering an award – Nicklas Bendtner. So, there’s shite-all accomplished with just over three weeks until the start of the Premiership season. This ain’t bloody good enough. We are Arsenal Football Club – a team of class, passion and glory, not some money-in-the-bank business and “4th place kings” (shakes my head in shame).
Arsenal Board need to get their fingers out their collective arses. Over the years I have seen plenty of ups and downs at The Arsenal, but I really can’t remember ever being this bloody frustrated by it all (even the Birmingham Cup Final. Yes, even that). Anyone with a football brain can see we need 4 or 5 players, but so far a big fat zero (telling a lie – we have Sanogo) have come in to help. But where’s the spine?
Certainly a proper keeper, defensive midfield, a poacher striker and a couple of squad players (certainly we are short at the back with mounting injuries to Nacho Monreal and Thomas Vermaelen). I hope we start filling these holes – soon! I’m just praying we wipe the old dusty cobwebs off the rarely used chequebook and damn well use it, and bloody quickly too. Why wait until the end of the window? Why not do it early and get players in? Get them playing with each on the pitch so they have time to gel I would think would give us that bit of edge at the start of the season that we’ve been missing the last few years. I just don’t bloody get it at all.
So as the days, hours, minutes quickly pass off the poxy transfer window, before you know it the 17th of August, and the opener vs Aston Villa, will be here. Many fans like me are holding their breath to see if eight years of hurt will end with a trophy filled season. At this point, any cup will do – an F***’n teacup even. The players need to want it as much as the fans. We can’t be happy with Champions League football each season unless it’s with a club capable of seriously competing for it.
We need to act like winners again, like Manchester F***’n United. As I gaze to the sky, I dream of happier times. So please, please, please, I’m begging, let these next three weeks and 2013-2014 season be so different and glorious than the last 8 years!
Right, rant over. Sorry about the language, but this really is how I’m feeling right now. I’m tired, very frustrated and just down right pissed off, but my love for Arsenal Football club will never diminish.
