Verdict: Kone is Everton’s first singing of the summer. And while it was expected, is a huge relief to all Evertonians that we get some sort of movement in the transfer window. As compared to the two Everton strikers who played the most last season, Jelavic and Anichebe, Kone comes out tops, having scored as many goals as the two combined. 13 goals in a relegated side is nothing to scoff at and a new striker was one of the main priorities for the Toffees this summer. I feel he will succeed with the service he will be given, which will be a hundred times better than any he received at Wigan. With the excellent wing play of Mirallas and Pienaar, along with players such as Keisuke Honda, Gerard Deulofeu, and Victor Moses being linked with moves to Everton, a very potent attack force could be in the making with the first signing of the 2013 summer transfer window, and the first of Roberto Martinez’s Everton career.
