Fast Break: D-Wade, World Peace, Mother Earth and Derrick "Little Red Hen" Rose

First, welcome back to Fast Break.  As you already know, the NBA is never short of drama, intrigue, and wicked performances, all worthy of making the night’s ticker.  Like you, I feverishly watch the ticker, sometimes many, many times, before finally turning the channel.  And when I find a few stories I like, then I’ll look into them – it’s just my routine.  So what I aim to do for you in Fast Break, is give you an idea of some storylines that I looked up based on basketball tickers that I found particularly interesting.  So, on with show – NBA Fast Break in 300 Words or Less:

Rory Harbaugh cardApparently enough of you like Melo to have bought more of his jersey than any other from the NBA.  I suppose I can buy it seeing as how he leads the Association in scoring.  Apparently King James needs another 60 Minutes special……Dwayne Wade has missed five consecutive as he nurses a sore knee.  In related news, my son has also missed his preschool gym class this week with a stubbed toe. I’ve contacted Wade’s physician regarding the said stubbed toe……Metta World Peace is set to come back after having had surgery to repair a torn meniscus less than two weeks ago.  I guess his stockpiled karma from changing his name from Ron Arrest Artest has sped up the recovery……Kevin Love, also out with knee troubles, is set to have major arthroscopic surgery.  Sources are saying he’s considering changing his name to Mother Earth Love in hopes of a quick response……When asked about a return (for the 1000th time), Derrick Rose says he is certainly open to a return this season.  Talk about the Little Red Hen Syndrome for the Bulls, eh?  Who will help me win games?  Not I, says Rose.  Who will battle on the boards and win possessions?  Not I, says Rose.  Who will help us in the playoffs when all the glory is on the line?  I will, says Rose……Ron Burkle, the billionaire who was interested in keeping the Sacramento Kings in California, has backed out.  The team is apparently considering the name Seattle Starbucks, but Milaukee seems to be opposed……I’ll leave you with some Olympic news.  The OC (not the county) is considering adding 3 on 3 basketball to its list of events for the summer olympics.  So, let’s get this right.  We’re going to take out wrestling (one of the few sports left from the original version) because no one cares about that (their words, not mine), and insert 3 on 3 basketball – a sport that has “gripped” the world and needs to be battled for supremacy.  Right……

There ya have it, NBA headlines that you need to be aware of, in 300 words or less.  Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter – @LastWordOnSport.
