Fast Break: Coaches and Players Losing It, Selling Seattle and the Player with MS

First, welcome back to Fast Break.  As you already know, the NBA is never short of drama, intrigue, and wicked performances, all worthy of making the night’s ticker.  Like you, I feverishly watch the ticker, sometimes many, many times, before finally turning the channel.  And when I find a few stories I like, then I’ll look into them – it’s just my routine.  So what I aim to do for you in Fast Break, is give you an idea of some storylines that I looked up based on basketball tickers that I found particularly interesting.  If you find any of these tickers worthy of your time, why not do a little digging – believe me, they’re worth it! So, on with show – NBA Fast Break in 300 Words or Less:

Let’s do ourselves a favour and never assume the Heat are going to lose a game until the exact moment the buzzer sounds with nothing on the clock.  Until that happens, assume they’ve won.  LeBron is a friggin’ beast……Speaking of Bron, whoever decided it a good idea to spark the idea of him returning to the Cavs in a couple years please, smack yourself very hard on the ear.  Please, don’t be stupid, and don’t piss off all of Ohio at the same time……After the Lakers squandered an 18-point lead yesterday, Mike D’Antoni almost lost it. He even laughed at the team breaking from a huddle with a collective “Championship” chant as “laughable”.  Not exactly a field general, eh?……Larry Sanders required several FBI agents to talk him down in yesterday’s game – well not FBI agents, more like teammates, but still, the guy went crazy on his way to two technicals.  I think it stemmed from being POSTERIZED by Pacer Paul George……Now, I’ve never coached at the NBA level, and I can’t seem to even get my son to hit a decent fade, but am I off my rocker in thinking Hawks coach Larry Drew is off HIS rocker?  I mean, what the hell is he doing?  Some very bad rotations, substitutions, game management.. I really don’t think he is of right mind……NY Knicks are doing what they can to look the part without their big men. K-Mart and Melo are clicking, and the pair have led the way en route to clinching a playoff spot. What I’m waiting for is when the big guys (Amar’e, Kurt Thomas and Wallace) come back who plays where? I think it could be messy……Tony Parker returned to the Spurs and picked up where he left off before his eight-game absence, as the team narrowly beat the Jazz in Overtime. Man, they look crazy scary when they’re on….. Sacramento Kings fans are trying to rally support for the team’s cause, with a local sports radio personality leading the charge.  He’s stopping at 20 NBA cities in a decked-out “Save the Kings” van to build support.  That’ well and good, but Seattle has good coffee, grunge music and a gigantic Space Needle – what does Sacramento have to offer?……I’ll leave you on a bittersweet note, with something that touches me personally.  I always root for players who excel despite having Multiple Scleroris, as my mother suffers from the disease every day of her life.  So a big shout-out to Chris Wright, the D-League all-star who got called up with a 10-day contract from the Mavs.  Though the team aren’t going to renew the deal, hats off to him for fighting what must feel like a constant uphill battle.  Kudos, Chris.
