The NFL is a smorgasbord of awesome storylines. Some are analytical, others are critical, and some are just down right stupid. It’s the stupid ones I live for – they make my day. Welcome to QuickSlant.
Like you, I peruse headlines and tickers in search of the stories written by credible writers who have some form of credentials and at least a few real “inside sources”. After all, the NFL is a serious business requiring serious reporting. I also like to have a little fun, which is why I created Quick Slant. At its core, this column is my way of sharing with you the headlines from around the NFL that I feel are most interesting. I try to offer my own take on the story in as few words as possible – some of us have a wife, kids and a job and don’t have time to read 5000+ word novels! So, without further ado, I give you today’s version of Quick Slant:
The NFL Players Association is holding a seminar in April for its members in conjunction with the National Rifle Association. To add to this circus, can Plaxico Burress please give the keynote? That would be just perfect……Terrell Brown stands 6’10” and weighs close to four bills. The Ole Miss product played only two games last year, but for whatever reason he was the centre of attention at their Pro Day. He may be the only player with a bigger head than Richard Sherman……NFL teams are allowing prospects to conduct business as usual on their personal Twitter and Facebook pages. The idea is that they will then analyze (like only the NFL can) the hell out of them for any signs of whatever is they are looking for. If this extrapolates outside of the NFL unemployment amongst 18-35 year old males is gonna go insane……One headline today reads, “Derrelle Revis Plans to Run Outside in 4-6 Weeks”. In other news, I plan to take a dump in 4-6 minutes. Who the hell cares when he runs?……I’ll end on a fun note today. Check out this article that looks at which NFL players would be perfectly suited to Australian rugby…interesting!
