This time im Jack’d off about the Semi-final Capital One Cup match between Chelsea and Swansea.
Chelsea lost leg 1 at home, 2-0, therefore they needed to score two at Swansea in the return leg to have any chance of advancing to the final. With the game scoreless in the 80th minute, the ball went out of bounds behind the Swansea goal with Eden Hazard racing to pick up the ball to ensure the goal kick would be taken as quickly as possible. To his surprise, he ended up having to wrestle for the ball with the Swans 17-year old ball boy!
The ball boy, who was clearly wasting time, decided to dive on top of the ball and cover it underneath his stomach while Eden Hazard proceeded to kick the ball out from underneath him. Hazard clearly manages to get the ball out from under the lad, but then the ball boy acted as if Hazard had also kicked him in the stomach during the tussle. Great, now even ball boys are embellishing! He then rolled around on the ground wasting more time and eventually had Eden Hazard sent off with a red card.
To make things worse the police were talking to the ball boy about pressing charges against Hazard and the English media is now all over the Chelsea midfielder! Luckily, as of right now at least, reports are the ball boy is not pressing charges. This Jacks me off, as it should you!
After watching the video it is quite clear that the ball boy was clearly wasting time, and I see Hazard only kick the ball away from him with no contact to his stomach made. I think the Ball boy should be fired and Swansea should be fined for this, but instead Hazard is facing punishment from the FA! Insanity. We are talking about a 17-year old, not a five-year old. Hazard is being victimized because of his status despite doing nothing wrong. He was trying to win a soccer game, and made no attempt to hurt the kid. I sure hope Abromovich opens the cheque book when Hazard receives his hefty fine from the FA.
