JaguaresPenalties: Juan Martin Hernández 2

Western Force – Tries: Alex Newsome, Isireli Naisarani; Penalties: Ian Prior 2

The quality of this game was pretty much uninspiring, as a 3 nil half time score would attest to. The quality of the refereeing team also left a lot to be desired. Referee Ben O’Keeffe spent the afternoon ruling on phantom high tackles and obstructions, yet missing the odd bit of foul play along the way. In one incident TMO Santiagi Borsani spent a long time looking to rule who pushed who first and missed the obvious the obvious open handed punch by Force prop Tetera Faulkner.

The key takeout here is how a Jaguares team, boasting in excess of 600 Test caps, can be turned over at home to the Force, a team fighting for their survival in the competition. There is one big question begging here. Are we witnessing the golden era or the improvement of Argentinian rugby?

The Force now meet up with the Highlanders in Perth, while the Jaguares have the bye.
