LA Galaxy CONCACAF Champions League Schedule Announced

The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) has announced the LA Galaxy’s schedule against Mexico’s Santos Laguna for the quarterfinals of the 2015/16 edition of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, the region’s premier competition for clubs.

In the second leg of the quarterfinals, the Galaxy will travel to Estadio Corona Torreon in Mexico to face Laguna on Tuesday, March 1, at 7 p.m. PT. Should the Galaxy advance, they would face the winner of the Club America – Seattle Sounders quarterfinal in the semifinals.

The Galaxy enter the quarterfinals after finishing first in Group D of SCCL group stages with a 2-0-2 record, earning wins over Central FC (Trinidad & Tobago) and Comunicaciones FC (Guatemala) at StubHub Center and draws on the road.

LA are set to make their fourth trip to the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals. In all-time SCCL competition, the Galaxy are 15-8-5, scoring 52 goals and allowing 32. In SCCL matches on the road all-time, the Galaxy are 4-5-5. The Galaxy continue to lead all U.S. teams in SCCL wins (15) and goals scored (52) all time. LA are 6-2-2 in their last 10 SCCL games overall with five shutouts during that span, and 1-3-3 in their last seven SCCL away matches.

Forward Robbie Keane is the Galaxy’s all-time SCCL scorer with nine goals and forwards Jack McBean and Alan Gordon are second, having tallied five goals each in SCCL play.
