ATP Metz Day 1 Predictions Including Filip Krajinovic vs Peter Gojowczyk

Filip Krajinovic

The ATP Tour is back after a week of break. The Moselle Open will be the host to four top 30 players, although we’ll have to wait a round to see them. For Monday, the organisers have planned three exciting main draw matches including Filip Krajinovic vs Peter Gojowczyk.

Nicolas Mahut vs Yannick Maden

Head-to-head: First meeting

This is a final round of qualifying match. Mahut was on the verge of retirement from singles but a great run at the French Open made him change his decision. The Frenchman loves indoor conditions and his all-court tennis might not be easy to handle for a relatively unexperienced player like Maden.

Prediction: Mahut in 2

Antoine Hoang vs Cedrik-Marcel Stebe

Head-to-head: First meeting

Stebe is a player whose career was almost completely ruined by recurring injuries. Lately, the German has been healthy at last is slowly making his way back to the top of the game. However, he doesn’t feel his best in pretty fast indoor conditions. With home crowd support, Hoang might be able to delay his comeback for yet another week.

Prediction: Hoang in 3

Fernando Verdasco vs Steve Darcis

Head-to-head: Verdasco 3-0

Another player who can’t get a break from injuries, Steve Darcis, will play the fifth seed Fernando Verdasco. The Spaniard is in the fall of his career and had a few nasty losses lately. The indoor conditions might give Darcis a shot, but the Belgian is rarely fully fit these days.

Prediction: Verdasco in 3

Filip Krajinovic vs Peter Gojowczyk

Head-to-head: Gojowczyk 2-0

Both players had some very fine results during the season but have been struggling with form lately. Gojowczyk lost his opening round at a Challenger in Mallorca to Jurij Rodionov, while Filip Krajinovic was out of the US Open after a loss to Cedrik-Marcel Stebe. The German usually dominates the rallies in his matches but his style of play is very erratic. He’s beat Krajinovic on hard comfortably once before, and he might be able to do it again.

Prediction: Gojowczyk in 3
